Understanding Firearms, How they Work, How to Safely Use Them
Both the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC) are designed to assist you in developing the knowledge and skills essential to become a safe firearms handler.
Through discussion, demonstration and a series of practical exercises each student will be introduced to:
- The various types of non-restricted firearms. [rifles & shotguns]
- The various types of restricted firearms. [handguns]
- Various types of ammunition.
- Safe firearm handling, both in the field and at the range.
- Safe loading and unloading methods.
- Safe storage, transport and display methods.
- Canadian Firearm Laws & Regulations.
The CFSC & CRFSC are offered together as either a two day weekend course or a two day weekday course. However, students may choose to participate only in either the CFSC or the CRFSC but some restrictions may apply with regard to the CRFSC. Please call for details.
The CFSC & CRFSC weekend course runs Saturday from 8:30am to 5:30pm and Sunday from 8:30am to 10:30am with the CRFSC on Sunday, from 10:30am to 5:30pm. As class size is limited to a maximum of 6, early registration is recommended to avoid disappointment.
The CFSC & CRFSC weekday course runs Monday from 8:30am to 5:30pm and Tuesday from 8:30am to 10:30am with the CRFSC on Tuesday, from 10:30am to 5:30 pm. As class size is limited to a maximum of 6, early registration is recommended to avoid disappointment.
We examine our own students and as such, students may book a convenient time to take the CFSC & CRFSC exams following the course.
Firearm Licence application forms are available for all students of the course, and your Firearm Licence photograph is included.
